save me from my emptiness
BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRING
ugh....too early... emma glanced at her alarm clock to see at what ungodly hour it decided to wake her up at today. seeing that it was about eleven, she stared at it, running her hand through her hair to get it out of her eyes. ELEVEN? when had she overslept? throwing the covers off of her, she jumped out of bed, slamming her hand down on the annoying clock to shut it off. stretching, she checked, just to make sure it wasn't lying. yup, it was eleven o'three, exactly. wow, she'd overslept for the first time in...ever. walking into the kitchen, she glanced around to see where garret and kaylee were. at first, she didn't see them at all. odd. but as she went to the kitchen, she noticed a note posted on the fridge.
em, went out with kaylee to buy clothes. be back later. gar
smiling slightly, she opened the fridge, grabbing a bottle of water. so she had the apartment to herself; for now, anyways. but in no way was emma even ready to spend all day inside. she wanted to head out somewhere...maybe the mall, or back on campus and get work done...probably the mall though. taking a sip of her water, she wandered off back to her room. changing out of her pajamas quickly and into different clothes, she brushed her hair, tying it in two braided pigtails. she almost decided putting on the baseball cap, but left it off; she didn't need it, really. after brushing her teeth and all the other fancy things she usually did in the morning, she grabbed her bag before scribbling a note to garret warning him where she was before heading out the door and locking it.
the mall wasn't that far off; it would work pretty well. she could easily walk there. sure, it was probably the slighest bit early to head to the mall, but not that early. and she had nothing else to do, really. she, for once, was not in the mood to do work at school for once. crossing her arms as it got slightly colder with the wind blowing against her, she quickened her pace until she was standing right outside the doors to the mall. pulling the door open, she was soon enveloped in the warmth of the mall. thank goodness.
she would have gone up to the food court, or even starbucks, but she didn't feel like it just yet. instead, she decided to wander a bit, check out the different stores there were. so, taking the escalator up, she went up to the second level of the mall, ready to explore the mall. walking past a few of the stores she rarely walked in, like the jewelery stores and some of the other stores she usually avoided, like Spencers. but as she got towards FYE, she stopped, staring up at it. she remembered that her and connor used to go here a lot, even though she personally didn't go there that often. she thought, what the heck, this would be a good time to just go check it out. so, she walked in.
exploring the cd section was probably all she had ever done while she'd gone to the store with connor. while he went off to look at the others things the store offered, she'd explore the cds. fall out boy's new cd was there, along with there for tomorrow's new EP, plus other good cds she'd seen. she sighed as she searched through, her hand running over the top of the cds. after all these months at the academy, she still hadn't found him.

I got a closet filled up to the brim With the ghosts of my past and the skeletons And I don't know why, You'd even try But I won't lie, You caught me off guard Now I'm running and screaming I feel like a hero and you are my heroine
If there was one thing that Conner didn’t like to do, it was wake up before noon. He was a guy who loved to stay up late partying, and then sleep half of the next day away, just so he could do it all over again. Conner loved to party, infact, if he wasn’t at a party, it was probably because the party was lame. He was a guy who would stay out until four or five in the morning and then sleep in until two in the afternoon. He had always been that way, and college definitely wasn’t the place that was going to change him.
I'm a go-getter guy, with a gun in my hand, but just searching for that someone to be firing it He groaned as he woke up to the sound of Ludo’s ‘Go-Getter Greg’. Rolling over and shutting off the alarm on his phone, he looked at the time. Eleven O’clock on a Saturday! He should still be sleeping. He mentally kicked himself for not remembering to shut the alarm off of his phone before going to be the night before. He laid in bed for a moment, but knew he wouldn’t be getting back to sleep anytime soon. With a groan, he rolled out of bed, dumping himself on the floor in the process. With another groan he picked himself off of the ground, threw his blanket on the bed and made his way to the shower.
After spending a good fifteen minutes in the shower, trying to wake up, he made his way into the kitchen and hunt for food. Damn he muttered to himself, I need to go shopping soon. Grabbing the last blueberry bagel, the threw it in the toaster while he went to throw on clothes. Conner had an uncanny ability to throw whatever on, and make it look good. He couldn’t care less what his clothes looked like, but yet he always looked amazing in whatever he wore.
Grabbing his bagel out of the toaster, he took a big bite and chased it down with a big gulp of milk that he had just poured. Glancing at the clock, he saw that it was still only about eleven thirty. No good parties or clubs would be available until nine at the earliest. Finishing his bagel, he grabbed his keys, wallet, phone, and cigarettes and headed out the door. He needed to find something to occupy his time until he could crash a party. Lighting a cigarette, he made his way to his convertible Putting the key in the ignition, he listened to it roar to life before he put it in drive and took off.
He decided to head over to he mall, he hadn’t been to FYE in forever, and he needed a new Mayday Parade CD since his had disappeared a few weeks ago when he let his cousin Addison borrow it. Finding a decent parking spot near the entrance closest to the store, he threw the car in park and hopped out without opening the door. Yea, the kid was cool. He passed the pretzel shop that was right by the store, and had to stop and grab one, even though he had just ate the bagel, no one could resist those things. Paying for the cinnamon pretzel, he made his way into FYE.
Thumbing through the CDs, he grabbed Mayday Parade’s cd, then went over to get Forever the Sickest kids. He was kind of bummed when he saw a girl in front of the F’s. She seemed so familiar, but he couldn’t place her by just looking at the back of her….But that hair…It looked just like Emma’s. But that was crazy, she would have surely called him if she was heading up this way, even though they hadn’t talked in forever. The girl seemed to be just browsing, maybe if he asked nicely, she would move so he could grab the CD. He could clearly see the CD, but the girl was directly in front of it. With a loud sigh, he turned around and went over to the A’s to get All Time Lows CD, yea, he already had a copy, but Addison had that one too, and he doubted he would get it back.
Walking over to the gaming section, he browsed the games for the Wii, trying to give that blasted girl ample time to decide what she wanted and get out of his way. Anyway, this gave him time to mull over the decision of getting Rock band for the Wii or not. Deciding to go ahead and get it, he was already spending and arm and a leg here anyway, a hundred more dollars wouldn’t kill him, he grabbed the game and went back over to the music section. That blasted girl was still there! Finally getting a bit aggravated, he tapped her shoulder with his free hand. “Is there any chance I can grab that cd right in front of you?”

save me from my emptiness
emma honestly couldn’t find what she was looking for. sure, she wasn’t in a cd mood at all, but it would have been better than nothing. standing there she knew she was probably bothering the people that needed that certain area, but she couldn’t think of that at the moment. she was in her own little world at the moment. emma was one of those people that always seemed to think back to the past, and here was one of those times. she was thinking back to when she was fourteen, when she’d first moved to the states. she’d made best friends with jaymee, who was the girl next door. The girl had been very sweet to her, and they had been really close. then she’d met connor. connor was jaymee’s older brother, and he had been only the most good-looking guy she’d ever seen. they’d been complete opposites, but that had never mattered, even when they were going out.
she felt a frown show up on her face as she thought about her sophomore year, when connor had gotten his acceptance letter to college. ever since then she hadn’t heard a word from connor. and that was just sad. she missed him dearly, but there was no way that she would probably see him now; she’d been at college for two years and she hadn’t spotted him yet at all. where could he be? she was so sure that he hadn’t graduated from college yet; he still had two years to go. but she still hadn’t seen him in the two years she’d been here. she was almost ready to give up on trying to find him; where else could he be?
she sighed; she wasn’t going to let this bug her. she absolutely wouldn’t do that. she was, or should have been, perfectly happy living with garret and kaylee. but thinking back, she was wondering how connor would have reacted badly. she could imagine his reaction to garret, but to seeing kaylee, that wouldn’t have been good. bad assumptions would have been made on connor’s part. she couldn’t help but laugh at the small possibility of it; she couldn’t even imagine anything even remotely romantic between her and garret. they were the best of friends, and she’d never been able to see him as more than that, no matter how many girls came up to her and told her that her roommate garret was a cutie.
okay, she had to get out of it. She was about to zone out of the real world. but someone else seemed to pull her out of it. feeling a tap on her shoulder, she listened to what the person requested. seeing the cd he was asking for, she reached down, grabbing. she turned around, saying, “yeah, here.” she looked up to see who was asking for it, and she felt her eyes widen slightly, the cd actually slipping from her had to the floor. was it really him… she couldn’t even breathe right. “c-connor…?” she felt his name leave her lips in a hushed, almost scared, tone. she didn’t want to have to be imagining this; that would be the saddest thing to her. but soon she couldn’t help it; dropping her bag, she wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling herself close to him. “i've been looking everywhere for you." her voice was slightly muffled, as her head was buried in his shoulder. she honestly didn't feel like letting go yet; she didn't think she could. but she did pull back as she soon remembered her earlier doubt if it was really him. if not, then she just hugged a total and complete stranger.
pulling away, she looked down at the ground, mumbling a 'sorry' quietly, not looking up again, because she was almost certain that she'd just hugged a total stranger.

Why people stood directly in front of a music section for long periods of time without getting anything never made any sense to Conner, but nevertheless, the girl stood there until he had finally asked her to hand him the Mayday Parade CD. At first he wondered if she heard him or not, because she didn’t answer, but then she said yea, and went to hand it to him. However, before the CD actually made it to his hand, it went crashing to the ground. He looked up to give an ass-like remark to the girl, but then he noticed two very brown beautiful eyes, and he knew who it was.
His thoughts were confirmed when Emma said “Conner?” And before he could say anything she had dropped her back and threw her arms around him. He was shocked at first, so he just stood there. He figured when they first saw each other again, if ever, that she would give him the cold shoulder for never calling her, and loosing contact. The fact that she so warmly greeted him, and then told him that she had been searching everywhere for him made his heart ache. He had truly really missed her.
She was the only girl he had ever known who would deal with his party ways, and his drinking, and occasional drugs, although she had stated that she didn’t approve of them, she didn’t hate him for it. And for some reason, he couldn’t be mean to her like he was to everyone else. There was something about her, he loved her for it. He just plain loved her. When they had stopped talking, it killed him. No girl came close to him, and he knew he still cared for her greatly.
He was about to say something to her, but then she pulled away, mumbled sorry, and walked off. He stood there for a moment, still in shock. Dropping the stuff he had in his hand, he took off after her, running, because he wasn’t sure how far she had gone while he was having a stupid moment. He turned the corner by the Ben & Jerry’s ice cream stand, and practically ran into her. Leaning against the wall to catch his breath, because he had sprinted, he tried to talk to her. “Emma------I-----cant-----believe----its----“ finally catching his breath, he was able to finally get it out. “EMMA! I can’t believe you’re here. here. he said. He took a step closer to her, and pulled her in his arms. He had missed just holding her like that. He had missed her.

save me from my emptiness
honestly, the only reason emma had thought she'd hugged a total stranger was because of the lack of response that she got from him. no words, nothing. she couldn't help but feel completely awkward, could she? which was why she'd picked up her bag, and without a word other than her apology, and walked off. brushing her hair out of her face, she sighed, shaking her head as she hitched her bag high up on her shoulder. she knew that she shouldn't have done that; now she was going to get the funniest looks from anyone that had seen them. and probably from him himself.
biting her lip, she was quickening her pace; she was ready to head back to the apartment and hide there for a while. that is, until he felt someone behind her. turning around, she saw him right behind her. and this time she was certain; it was connor. she stared down at him as he leaned against the wall, breathing heavily. she bit her lip, hoping he was okay. she was about to ask when she heard him start. hearing him start to talk, she watched him. he was still slightly out of breath ( or a lot out of breath ), so she waited for him to regain it all. but she didn't have to wait long; soon she heard him, and she felt a smile grow on her face. before she could say anything though, she watched him take a step closer before pulling her close to him. she let her bag fall, once again, from her shoulder as she let her arms wrap around his waist, her head burying itself in his chest.
“i've been here for a while. two years, almost. every day...i looked for you.” she mumbled, not willing to let go just yet. she wouldn't be able to. she'd waited two years to try and find him, she wasn't going to just let him go like that. their relationship probably hadn't survived the time apart, but course, the love she had for him never had. she cared for the boy, more than anybody. sure, he partied, drank, did drugs something, and sure, she never liked them, but it was his lifestyle, and she respected it. she wasn't going to change something about him that she didn't like that was a big part of him. she just always wanted him happy. pulling back, she looked up at him, smiling at him as she finally took a calm breath.
“i think....we should get caught up. don't you?” she bit her lip, smiling up at him softly. they had a lot to talk about, but catching up seemed like a good thing to do first. looking down, she unraveled her hands from around him, instead, taking one of his hands in both of hers. “please?” at the moment, that was all she wanted. she didn't care about the reasons why they'd lost touch, if he'd been with anybody since her, n one of that. she just wanted to talk with him, to hear his voice again talking to just her.
