sie sat on the dark wooden bleachers, lacing up her white figure skates. they were pretty tricky to lace up, coming undone at the bottom making the top uneven. she remembered having her mother tie her skates for her, but that was quite a long time ago. she made a motion to stand up, wobbling a bit. she hated this long walk to the ice, it was always harder to get onto the ice than to actually skate. for her, anyway. maybe it was another 'sienna thing'. the dancer had been skating for years, starting when she was young to help with her balance while dancing. she had taken lessons, and graduated from them, and took part in the age-level holiday skating show, which was pretty much dancing on ice skates.
sie stepped onto the ice, gripping the railings on either side of her, untrusting them to keep her standing. she took a step onto the ice, holding onto the wall until she got a grip. once she was set, she pushed off the wall and went racing into the small free-skate crowd. there were little kids, smitten couples, and then there was sienna, alone and bored. the things she did for dance; none of her friends really wanted to go ice skating with her on saturday night when they could be clubbing or something. sienna didn't blame them, but she wasn't really in with the 'party crowd'. she didn't drink, smoke, or do any of the 'bad' things, she just worked hard in what she was in school for. dancing was her thing, she wanted to be the best. there was no other option. but still, a little company would be nice.
sie skated around, hands behind her back, the light blue gloved fingers laced into eachother. a matching hat covered her head, with two things that went down over her ears, with a black bunny-tail lookalike pom-pom on the top of her head and on the ends of the things that tied around her chin. sie had left those untied, though. the black in her hat matched her coat, which was over a white shirt, jeans, and her white skates. having come here so many times, sienna knew just how many layers to wear to stay a good temperature. she looked to her left to see a little boy skid into the wall, crash, and start crying. sienna slowed her pace to see if he had a parent or something coming to help him, but nobody came. she started to skate over to him, asking if he was okay. as she neared him, she heard a rough vocie from behind her to 'move and get away from my kid.' sienna got the message, shrugged, and was off again.
