* gabrielle emily mello ,
* back to basics ,
name : gabrielle emily mello nicknames : gabbi, gabs, gabba(by mother, father, and brother), midget(by zac only) age : seventeen year: senior in high school. major : n/a birthday : july seventh sexuality : straight place of birth : los angeles, california
* the outer shell ,
celebrity play-by : cassadee pope hair color : dark brown and blonde eye color : blue-gray weight : 120 lbs. height : 5'3" overall : when gabrielle was born, she had the exact same color hair that her father did; a light brown, close enough to dirty blonde to be considered it. since that point, though, she has changed her appearance more times than she could count. it occured to her in middle school that it was possible to change your apperance, and she's been doing it ever since. she hates staying the same physically for too long; everything gets boring fast. at present, her hair is dark brown, with the under layers bleached to blonde.
her eyes are the same blue-gray as her brother has, and her sister had. she's small for her age, only five three and one hundred and twenty lbs. her brother, who towers over her at five eleven, will never let her forget it, calling her midget and all sorts of other names that poke fun at her shortness. gabbi's all about body art, as well. she made isaac promise that, as soon as she turned eighteen, he'd take her to get her nose peirced. her parents weren't too crazy about the peircing-tattoo thing, which is why she hadn't gotten it yet. she does, however, have a tattoo; her mother allowed her to get one for her seventeenth birthday, so long as it wasn't offensive or vulgar.
* what you see ,
overall personality : when she wants to be, gabbi can be the happiest girl alive. she loves being loved, and as long as you make her feel wanted, she'll be the nicest person you could ever imagine. when her brother's around and when her sister was alive, that was the only girl she was. she was always happy, always smiling, always thinking of ways to make everyone else smile. that's the only girl that isaac knows first hand, even though he knows that she completely changes when he's not around.
to everyone other than isaac, that girl only comes out on rare ocassion. it is extremely easy to offend the seventeen year old, and when you do, watch out. her emotions range on a scale from 'high' to 'higher': nothing lower than that. if someone makes her feel sad, even in the slightest bit, she cries. if someone makes her feel the tiniest bit angry, she screams. she's not one to hold things back; in fact, she's not sure that she's physically able to.
if you do something to anger her even the slightest bit, she'll never call you a friend again. even if it's something small, like getting an 'a' when she gets a 'b', or buying the last pair of jeans that she wanted, she'll glare at you for the rest of your life. she's lost many-a-friend over stupid little things like that. in a lot of circumstances she could have made up with that person, but she's too stubborn to do so. and a lot of the time, she confronts the person, and it ends up becoming a screaming fit.
to the people she's close with, though, she's unbearably sweet. if she ever saw one of the few she calls a friend outside in the freezing cold without a jacket, she'd give hers to them before she walked by without doing anything about it. she's trying to secure a friend this way; she's terribly afraid of being abandoned, and she wants to be the one to ditch a friend if push comes to shove.
* a closer look , likes : her brother, her deceased sister, new york, hair dye, body art, music, rebellion, chinese food, traveling, caffine, thriller and horror movies, documentaries, parties, acoustic songs. dislikes : mood swings, depression, death, being left alone, tofu, vegan food, fast food chains, camping, organized religion, musicals, foriegn languages, geometry, boredom, silence. quirks : she clicks her teeth together when she isn't hearing any noise, she shuffles her feet when she's embarassed, when she doesn't know what else to do, she starts doing jumping jacks. fears : silence: she doesn't know why, but it scares her to death, the entire concept of death, the thought of cannibalism. she saw 'silence of the lambs' at age eleven and has been terrified of that concept ever since. flaws : she doesn't believe that she'll be able to accomplish anything in life, she blows up over the littlest of things, her emotions are too extreme, to the point where a lot of people think she's bipolar. secrets : her fear of silence, she went into a depression after isaac left for school, a lot of the time she wishes it was she that died instead of her sister.
* blast from the past ,
father : joseph abraham mello // fifty-one // school principal mother : april margaret mello // forty-eight // guidance councilor brothers : isaac anthony mello // twenty sisters : cassandra april mello // deceased pets : a small dog named ruby. other : n/a.
history : when april mello found out that she was pregnant with her second child, a boy, there was much debate over what the unborn baby's name would be. there were baby-naming books purchased, baby name websites visited, and opinions asked. everyone gave their own opinion, but april and her husband, joe, couldn't quite decide on a name. she wanted something classic, like emily or elizabeth, to match the classic name of her already two year old daughter, cassandra. joe wanted to think outside the box. and there was, of course, the opinion of cassie, who wanted to name her brother to be named "big bird". when the baby finally arrived, however, they couldn't think of anything better to name him than isaac anthony mello; isaac after joe's father and anthony after april's father.
when isaac was three and cassie was five, another baby came into the mello family; another little girl was was named gabrielle emily. for the longest time, five year old cassandra was hideously jealous of the new baby, and isaac didn't know any better but to follow his older sister's example. their mother and father always seemed to pay so much more attention to baby gabrielle, and neither of the two children were very good at giving up attention. cass and isaac did many things to bring the attention back to them, going so far as to hide the infant gabbi in miscellaneous places and tell their parents to find her, not-so-secretly hoping that they would not. finally, their parents convinced them to cut it out, and they did; they didn't want to make mommy and daddy madder than they already were. it was only at that point that isaac decided that he actually liked having both a baby sister and a big sister.
over the years, both cass and isaac got extremely close to their younger sister, enough to actually act like they were related. after that point at age two, the siblings were closer than any other siblings they'd met; the three of them were practically inseperable. they were the kind of siblings that would convince their friends to let brother and sister tag along, because "they were cool" and "not annoying". even they knew that most brothers and sisters couldn't stand each other most of the time, and they were proud to be in that minority.
when isaac was fifteen and gabbi was twelve, the worst possible thing happened. cassandra, who was seventeen at the time, was dropping off her friend at her house late at night after going to a late movie. wile she was driving home, the car was hit by a drunk driver, and she died on impact. it seemed as though the entire family, isaac and gabrielle as well as their mother and father, were never going to recover from that dark time in their lives.
after cassie died, isaac became more protective of and close to gabbi than he'd ever been. of course they'd always been close, and he'd always been the type of big brother that looked out for her in every aspect of their lives. after cass was gone, though, she was the only sister he had left. they'd always been close, but they got even closer. that was why it killed him when he went away to college in new york when he was eighteen; he was leaving his sister behind in los angeles.
for the next year while isaac was at school, gabbi underwent a lot of changes in her life. her brother was really the only thing that really kept her happy in california, and when he was gone, nothing seemed right. she isolated herself most of the time; she had a few good friends she had made earlier in her life, and she didn't try to make new ones. she'd always been on the moody side, but it got worse when isaac went away. that was a majority of the reason that her parents packed up their house and found a place to live in new york; so they could get their youngest daughter back.
