it breaks my heart to see you crying baby
Awkward could be one of the many words used to describe how Camden Ryan was feeling right now, why had he decided to go somewhere so private? He quickly went over the reasons he had decided to go to the lake in the first place in his head and for once all this boy wanted was to be alone. He shook his brown hair out of his eyes and daringly allowed himself a glance at girl that was investigating him so obviously. He was sure that, if he were straight, he would have went up to this girl in an instant. She was one of girls that was considered generically beautiful…not because she blended in with the average blonde hair blue eyed persona but you just knew that no one could possibly deny that she was attractive. He tried not to cringe a little when she caught him staring and winked at him in return. He was certain she would be walking over to him shortly and that was a conversation he would love to avoid. He quickly looked away and stared at the currently frozen lake instead, it was bound not to be frozen for long, it was the sun’s turn to shine. He smirked a bit at himself for his corny thoughts and then leaned back against the oak tree he was seated under.
Lately the boy felt admittedly alone as his very best friend that he had made at the Academy was no where to be found. She hadn’t left him a note, called, text, anything! It was as if she simply didn’t care about him anymore and that really stung. Was he truly as pointless of a boy that he had always felt he was? He was beginning to wonder. It seemed as if he would always lose the ones that meant the most to him. He couldn’t hold onto anything his best friend, his dad, any of his boyfriends…everyone always left him or just really didn’t want anything to do with him eventually. He drove everyone away by clinging too hard…everyone except the one he was torn away from anyway. He swallowed hard about the memory of that one. As much as he was hurting now it didn’t even begin to compare to how he felt back then…when he was taken away from his Tristan by his wretched excuse for a father. As many times as Camden had fallen in and out of love that boy had been an entirely different story. He honestly felt as if the word love could barely suffice as a word to describe his incredible feelings…but he didn’t want to think about that, he didn’t want to think about anything.
Luckily (well kind of anyway), the girl that had been compulsively staring had come to his rescue by tearing him away from his heartbreaking thoughts, ”Hi, I’m Lindsay.” The girl introduced herself, smiling obnoxiously at him. Camden tilted his head for a second before snapping out of his trance like state and noticing her hand sticking out in front of him, he returned the same obnoxious smile the girl wore as he shook her hand. ”Hi! I’m gay.” He told her honestly, smirking a bit afterward. The girl Lindsay’s face fell as quickly as it had brightened, ”Oh…never mind then.” She said, her annoyance at the fact that he had wasted her time was evident. ”Bye!” He replied cheerfully waving after her, happy to have her out of the way. He then let out a sigh and took out his ipod, placed the earphones in his ears, decided on Fall Out Boy, and turned up the volume to full blast. Now that was a good way to block the world out kids.
