* shela izabel quin ,
* back to basics ,
name : shela izabel quin nicknames : shea age : nineteen major : music birthday : april fourth sexuality : straight place of birth : chicago, illinois
* the outer shell ,
celebrity play-by : becky lou filip hair color : dark brown eye color : blue-grey weight : 115 lbs. height : 5'4" overall : shela's appearance is always changing. she loves change, and whenever she feels like a change, she dyes her hair. although she tends to stick more to the natural looking colors, she sometimes dyes it the occasional bright blue or hot pink. her natural hair color is an unusual-looking red-brown. she has a normal build, standing at a normal 5'4".
she has always been extremely pale skinned. it is that attribute that she dislikes the most. she has always wished that she was of italian descent, being tanned all year round. however, she is the farthest from that. if she tries to tan in the summer time, her skin goes from snow white to lobster red. many of her facial features come from her mother. they have the same high cheekbones, and the same slightly pointed chin. the one facial feature that comes from her father is her nose. jared and his daughter had exactly the same nose, with a small bump near the top. most girls would love to have that bump removed surgically, but it is one of the many flaws that she loves about herself; she believes it builds character.
* what you see ,
overall personality : a lot of people just let things that have upset them go, but she isn't one of them. she isn't one to take things sitting down. if you've offended her or made her mad in any way, she makes sure you know it. she isn't afraid to make a scene in a public place, or scream at you if you're older than she is. the phrase 'respect your elders' means absolutely nothing to her; she gives as much respect as she gets.
one thing that she hates more than anything in the world is the fact that war exists. she is an extreme pacifist; to her, war and suffering caused by it is extremely unnecessary. although she would argue for something she believes in, she'd never even go as far as to hit someone. she believes that everything can be solved by discussion, and perhaps a little bit of yelling to get the point across. it isn't below her to protest for peace; in fact, it's something she does quite often.
she is the type of person that you either love or hate. she has a very distinct personality, and she does not, and refuses not to, change it for anyone. she knows that is not something that many can say, and she is proud to say it. she is not afraid to speak her mind, and she will always let people know what she is thinking and states her opinion on every subject that comes up. she doesn't think about things before she says them, and she often hurts peoples feelings with her words.
ever since she was young, she has been extremely dedicated to everything she's ever done. whether it was sports, a school project, or her music, she dedicates herself to it like there's nothing else going on in her life. she gives 110% in absolutely everything she does, because she feels like she's cheating someone if she doesn't. she's never been one to do anything half-way. whenever you need her to do something, you can be sure that she'll do it to the best of her ability.
she is definitely a very competative person; that goes for her music as well as sports and games. she is also not afraid to speak her mind; if she thinks you're cheating, she'll come right out and accuse you of it. but that's another thing about her: she never plays by the rules herself. she is constantly looking for loopholes and cheat sheets. she thinks it's better to win at any cost than to play fair.
despite her competative nature, she is one of the sweetest people you will ever meet. if she saw you outside in the freezing cold without a jacket, she'd give you her before she walked by without doing anything about it. she's always giving people compliments, whether they were a friend or an enemy of hers. she believes in the phrase "treat others the way you want to be treated", so she treats everyone with respect.
* a closer look ,

* blast from the past ,
father : real: henry joseph malbrough // social worker // thirty four adopted: jackson tyler quinn // fourty seven // interior designer collin edward conners // fourty two // hair salon owner mother : real: georgina marion ames // professor // fifty brothers : n/a sisters : n/a pets : n/a other : n/a
history : georgina ames was a professor at a college on the east coast, teaching the french language to college freshman. one of her students as henry malbrough, a nineteen year old freshman. although she was more than fifteen years his senior and married, she couldn't help but be attracted to him. apparently, he felt the same way, and they had an affair for over a year.
It was at that point that georgina found herself pregnant. in fear of incarceration, she quit her job, packed up her things and fled, leaving both her lover and her lawful husband behind. she never told either of them where she was going, or the reason why. nine months later, when her baby was born in a hospital in just outside of chicago, she was immediately sent to an orphanage. the baby wasn't even given a name.
however, she didn't have to stay at the orphanage long. newly committed gay partners jackson quinn and collin conners had decided it was time for them to adopt a child. they'd been together for seven years, and they knew they weren't breaking up now. they headed to an orphanage to look for a child, and found exactly what they wanted in the nameless baby girl. even as an infant, they were struck by the limited amount of dark curls on her tiny head. they signed the adoption papers that very day, and named her shela(pronounced shay-la) izabel quinn, after jackson's sister and mother.
shea was never ashamed of the fact that she had two fathers. however, a lot of the kids that she went to school with, as well as their parents, had a definite problem with it. she was always being teased by kids at school. "you can't have two daddys" they would say. being as young as she was, she never realized that she was, in fact, adopted. she just assumed, as any child would, that it was possible for two men to have a baby together.
when collin and jackson told her that neither of them were her real father, she broke down. she didn't want to believe it. she was older at the time, and she'd suspected it, but still, it was hard to get her mind around the word "adoption". she had trouble eating, and eventually developed anorexia. she'd go days at a time without even a speck of food, and she continued like that until her fathers took her to the hospital for treatment.
the family of three moved to new york when shela was thirteen. new york was better for her, more accepting of the gay community. people wouldn't make fun of her for having two fathers there. in fact, she made a few friends in the same situation as she was. new york was also the place where both jackson and collin's careers took off. collin started a hair salon on fifth avenue, and it soon became one of the most popular in the area. jackson decorated it, and he soon decorated other places like it, as well as homes and other businesses. both of their businesses completely skyrocketed, and shea couldn't have been more proud of them. her fathers decided that, with the money they'd recently come into, they'd buy their child anything she asked for. she took advantage of that on one occasion: when she asked for a piano.
her two fathers were more than happy to give her what she wanted. they offered to enroll her in lessons, but she refused. all she needed was a book of sheet music, a piano to play on, and a few books on musical theory so she could learn to read the music. by the time she was fifteen, she was playing like she'd been doing it all her life. when it came time for her to go to college, she wanted skip it so she could make a living playing piano at places like bars and restaurants. however, jackson discovered new york's academy of the arts, and enrolled her.
* the simple things ,
alias : lilli age : fifteen how'd you find us? : it was advertised on my site. secret word : -admin edit!- roleplay sample : Geometry was Alliey Green’s own personal hell on earth. When would she EVER use words like “centroid” and “circumcenter” in real life? Never, that’s when. So why were such vocabulary words required to learn when they were just going to go into the storage bucket in the back of her brain and disappear, never to be used again? It was completely and totally pointless.
Geometry was usually the period that Alliey spent sleeping, if she attended the class at all. The teacher had this really weird policy; He graded only by tests. He explained each section of each chapter thoroughly, but you didn’t have to pay attention. He gave tests at regular intervals, and you took them. If you failed, you kept taking them until you passed, and he used your best test grades to grade you on. It was totally and completely impossible to fail that class, which was a good thing. That meant she could sleep or not show up all she wanted.
Today, she was kicking herself for even showing up at all. She’d stayed up all the night before, strumming on her guitar. It was one of those rare nights that she had the apartment to herself, for one reason or another, and she took advantage of it. Usually her roommates complained about the constant music she was making with her guitars, and usually she just ignored it. But why pass up a perfect opportunity to not get bitched at? Why sleep it away?
She was about two seconds from falling asleep when a vibrating in her pants pocket startled her awake. Alliey, like the horrible rule-breaker she was, kept her cell phone on at all hours, and often texted during class. She slyly flipped her phone open, keeping it under her desk so her teacher had no way to see it. It was from Noah, her best friend, who had free period at this point (not that it would have stopped him from texting her if he did have class)
alliey, doll! What’re u doin right now? U know u wanna come outside with me and head out for lunch! Come on, meet me on the front stairs, k?
She smirked a little, and quickly typed her reply.
dying in geometry. obviously i want to come; i’ll be there in 5.
She stashed her phone back in her pocket, picked up her bag, and stood up in the middle of class. ”Mr. Greenwood” she announced, trying her best to sound sickly, although she knew she was no actress. ”I’m going to be sick!” Not bothering to glance at his facial expression, she ran out the door of the class room, and didn’t stop until she was safely on the stairwell. The teacher wouldn’t care, anyway; He wasn’t oblivious to the fact that she slept during his class.
She made her way down the stairs to the front door and slipped out, quickly seeing noah’s figure sitting, his back to her, on the stairs. She walked over and kicked his back, waiting for him to turn around. ”You should be proud. You didn’t even have to get me out of class. I did it all by myself.” she said, grinning proudly at him.
