* if too many of one major is picked, that major may get temporarily closed until all majors are about evenly filled.
* these are the college majors only. for high school students, when filling out the app, it is not required unless your character already knows what major they would go for when they are done college and about to attend New York Academy of the Arts.
music }
music is a universal language. many listen to it, but there are a few select people that can actually play music. and not just guitar or piano, but those who know how to play traditional instruments of a n orchestra or a band. the violen, a flute, a trombone, any of those olden instruments today's students seem to forget of, these students are the ones that want to make a living with them.
art }
everyone seems to love some form of art, but these students are the ones that actually worked on it. the ones that have skills with just small strokes of a painbrush, skills with a chisel and a huge piece of stone to carve, or just skills with a small pencil and a piece of paper. these students take their artwork seriously, and consider things that even other people can't do 'not their best'.
dance }
the dancers spend a lot of their time in the dance studio practicing, or in the gym working out to keep fit to keep dancing. dancers take their work very seriously, wanting to perfect every single move that is choreographed for a big recital or audtion.
theater }
the thespians of the school. no matter what the show, the genre, the characters, no matter what, they want to be a part of every school play and musical that this school sends out, which is quite a few at different times. they take acting very seriously, and sometimes it goes out with them into teh real world.
photography }
not those teenage girls that takes pictures of themselves topless in front of a bathroom door. the ones that make photography an art, ones that try to make everything look different from the cameras point of view. they know how to get the shots just right so that they can get the perfect sunlight in so that no editing is needed.
graphics design }
computer graphics are something the world is starting to develop in. skills with photoshop, Paint Shop Pro, or graphics programs to design logos for companies online and other things. a very well paid career that requires knowledge with not just programs, but computer in itself as well.
modeling }
the subject of many photographers. these are the ones that have the bodies, the looks, and attitude, to become a model. they are the ones that are going to strut around wearing designer clothes, flaunting their ability to be able to pull off great looks. they work with the photographers a lot so both can get their portfolios up.
fashion design }
the ones that seem to have skills with art and a needle. they can design gorgeous designs out of their head onto paper, and then make them come to life for the models to wear around the school, getting their name big like Chanel or Gucci. not just clothes, but bags, shoes, hats, jewelery, and other things.
writing }
the writers have a skills for making their writing pop, to make their writing something that people generations from now would want to read. and not just stories; many of these are also poets, short story writers, and other writers. they take their writing seriously, and some might be those that take gramatical mistakes seriously.
other }
there could be other artistic majors out there that aren'tone the major ones like these. so course, anyone is welcome if they have an artistic talent. just have to be specific in your resume; this school doesn't accept just anyone.
