looking for adventureand whatever comes in our way
“oh, go to the right! right, right! no...wait, no! left, left!” maddie frowned as the bowling ball swerved in the opposite direction, resulting in a gutter ball. scrunching her nose, she sighed as she walked back over to the seats. for now, she was alone; she'd come with aubree and andrew allen, but they'd gone to get food, and the line was clearly visible; it was at least thirty people. saturday night was oddly popular for people to come bowling, apparently. and right now madalyn parker was alone as she waited for her friends to return. but hey, while they were gone...standing up, she took her bowl back in her hands, sticking her fingers in the holes. aiming her shot, she stuck her tongue out of the side of her mouth as she looked at the pins, determined to get a strike. pulling her arm back, she walked forward, bringing her arm forward until she felt the pressure of the ball leave her fingertips. she watched it fly down the aisle, and grinned as it knocked over nine out of the ten pins. “yes! yes!” she jumped up and down for a minute before realized that aubree and andrew were still in line. “guys, i got a strike! well, an almost strike! i got nine down!” she saw aubree laughing, and she rolled her eyes. she didn't care; she was just happy.
saturday had been boring enough. madalyn had found out, sadly, a bit too late, that she had nothing to do for the entirety of the day. aubree had been hanging out with austin, and many of her other friends were gone for the day. so she was alone. she'd first gotten all of her course work done, which was a surprise; she was usually behind slightly because she had the worst attention span that was possible. it was almost ADHD, but...not. so she'd spent a good hour working on her skit for her drama class with this girl, erika. she wasn't exactly the friendliest girl there was; in fact, the girl called her a failure and walked out of the class....madalyn hadn't been insulted, just...weirded out. she'd heard things about that girl anyways....
so there was that. plus, cleaning her room, and wandering around the mall for a good three hours. she'd been about to go off to the lake when she got a text from aubree asking to go bowling with a few other people. she was about cheer in the middle of the street; she finally had something to do that didn't involve her thinking of the one boy that she wanted to see today. alexander brody allen was andrew allen's older bro, who was aubree's best friend besides madalyn herself. the two were decently close; knowing andrew meant that madalyn and alexander were to get along, but there wasn't any problem. their personalities were so similar; they were often goofing off, being hyper and active together. she enjoyed the time she'd spent with alexander, even though there were those times when it seemed that he was keeping to himself. and she kind of wanted to know why, but didn't press on it; she wasn't sure if he'd like her getting into his business or not.
shaking her head, she looked back up. she decided to try again. grabbing her ball, she aimed it carefully, letting her arm fall back as she took a few steps forward. letting the ball go, she watched it swerve to the left. she watched it eagerly for a minute before frowning. “no! other way, other way! right, right!” she knew she looked like a dork, yelling at the ball as it went down the aisle. she looked out of the corner of her eye, and of course, some of the parents of the other little kids that were there were giving her weird looks. she grinned a big grin, waving at them, but she turned away quickly, heat rushing to her face; maybe she was having a weird hyperactive episode that day...
she turned to see aubree and andrew still in line. she frowned, waving at them. “hurry, please! i'm getting funny looks.” she mumbled the last part, because she was still close to the adults. she let herself fall onto one of the seats, pulling her feet up underneath her. yeah, she didn't care if it wasn't her house or whatever; it was comfortable. for her, anyways. crossing her arms, she blew her bangs out of her face as she waited for them to come back, or somebody to come to talk to her.

so don't fall, cause this is what you need. aubree davis had been sitting all alone in her dorm room feeling very, very bored. she had no one to talk to and nothing to do. that is, until she got a text message from austin bennett asking if she wanted to get a few people together to go bowling. she agreed and of course she immediately texted her best friend maddie. aubree had texted other people too but most normal people have plans on saturdays. so, it seemed to just be the three of them unless someone else showed up. so, aubree got up of her couch and got ready to leave. after getting a shower and straightening her hair, she got dressed. she was wearing a pair of light blue jeans, a gray shirt, converse shoes, and she brought along a jacket. it was getting pretty chilly out in new york.
when she arrived at the bowling alley, she saw maddie right away. after saying their hellos, aubree took of her jacket and they waited at their lane for austin. once austin got there, they all started bowling. they had bowled for about ten minutes when aubree heard her stomach rumble. she asked everyone else if they were hungry and austin said that he was. apparently maddie wasnt, which was unusual. so, aubree and austin went into the food line to get their food. there were so many people in line that aubree was already tired of waiting before she even got in line. standing in line alone with austin felt kind of awkward. they hadnt talked since the day in the music room. the day that they had kissed.
aubree bit her lip and looked down at the ground. she was hoping that he would say something first but she wasnt sure that he was going to. "so..." she let out a loud nervous laugh. aubree covered her mouth with her hand to stop herself from laughing again. she moved her hand and turned forward in the line, crossing her arms. the line moved a little aubree stepped forward. she was happy that she was getting even closer to actual food. however, she could tell that it was slightly awkward between her and austin. she liked him a lot and she didnt really know how he felt. and worst of all, aubree hadnt even told maddie about him yet. she wasn't really sure if she wanted to. she was slightly afraid of what maddie would say. aubree didnt date or even like guys like austin. she usually fell for guys like garret dublin or noah stevenson.
aubree heard the faint scream of maddie and she turned her head to look at her. she let out a laugh as maddie yelled to them that she had gotten a strike. it still amazed aubree that maddie had such adhd. aubree and maddie had been friends since well, birth. they had never gotten into a fight. well, they got into little bickers but they usually ended within two minutes. aubree could never stay angry with maddie and apparently maddie couldnt stay mad at aubree. she turned back to austin. they needed to talk and seeing as how they were away from maddie, she wanted to do it now. "look.. about the other day..." the line moved and she took a few steps forward. "i mean... i dont know. i just thought...." she shrugged. aubree was feeling awkward about telling him how she really felt so she just shut up.
aubree heard maddie yell again and she looked back over at her. maddie was getting bored and fast. she watched as maddie sat down and waited for them. aubree looked from maddie back to austin. she wanted to kiss him again and it was taking all of her self control not to just to at that moment. she bit down on her lip, trying to get those thoughts out of her head. it was failing horribly.

cause we belong together nowforever united here somehow that saturday was one of the days that austin couldn't find a single thing to do. so he'd searched through his phonebook, trying to see if he could get anyone to come bowling. a few friends he'd called said maybe. aurbee had been the only one to say yes, which surprised him, but in a very good way. so him and aubree had hung out for a bit, but almost everyone else he'd called canceled, saying they had other plans. it was going to be just the two of them when aubree said she'd call her friend madalyn. well, there was no harm in it. so madalyn turned out to be, and the three of them went bowling. it was pretty fun; aubree and madalyn together were pretty hyperactice. not even ten minutes into the night did aubree say she was hungry and did anyone want anything else. saying he'd get something to drink, they both asked madalyn, who wasn't hungry. shrugging, he and aubree went towards the line for food, which turned out to be longer than they thought.
but standing there with aubree saying nothing turned out to be quite awkward indeed. neither of them seemed to be able to talk to each other since their day in the music room. they hadn't even talked to each other since then. so this was probably a bad move on his part, but he wanted to spend some time with her. he opened his mouth to say something, but hearing madalyn's excited voice, he turned around, watching her bounce up and down, saying she got an almost strike. he smiled, shaking his head. he found it amazing how someone could have so much energy. he turned back to aubree just as she started talking. hearing her mention the other day, he looked at her, but he didn't say anything, and she stopped talking. he frowned mentally, moving forward as the line did.
it was now or never; he was gong to tell her. he was tired of playing this game with her. he liked her, a lot. hell, probably the most he ever liked a girl. he was usually too much of a wimp to say anything, but he was going to say something. he was tired of it all. turning towards her, he whispered the words, not wanting anyone to hear what he had to say. “aubree...i really...i really like you. more than i've ever liked any other girl before. the other day...the other day was amazing...even getting my nose beaten in, because i care about you. if you don't feel the same...it's fine. i just want to say that, if i can...if you want...i want you to...you know...” he tried to motion out what he meant, but that didn't work, so he sighed, deciding to speak up. “i want to go out with you. for real.” he gave her a soft smile, kissing her forehead. he was in a real romantic mood that day; this would have worked perfectly, if they'd been going out before they'd come bowling. how many times had he dreamed about it, wishing it would happen. and he was dearly opening that it would.
the line moved forward, and it was their turn. going forward, he ordered a regular Pepsi. he waited for aubree to order what she wanted, but he told the dude behind the counter that he would pay for her order. he looked down at her, smiling. “the least i can do.” he grinned at her, as though he hadn't admitted his feelings to her. if she was going to reject him, he might as well get used to the thought. he took his Pepsi, and started walking back towards where madalyn was, sitting there curled up on one of the seats. he sat down in one next to her before talking. “sorry about the wait, line was long.”

so don't fall, cause this is what you need. aubree stood in the line with him, still feeling more awkward than ever. she desperately wanted to tell him that she wanted to be his. she just didnt know how. she wasnt the kind of person that really liked relationships but she wanted one with him. mainly because she didnt want him with anyone else but her. she was feeling selfish and protective of him. she heard him say her name and she turned her head so that she could see him. hearing him say that he really liked her made butterflies squirm around in her stomach. she tried her hardest not to smile as he continued. she couldnt believe that he really liked her that much. she was going to say something until he started talking about how the other day was amazing.
aubree raised an eyebrow as he started to stutter. she wasnt sure what he was getting at but the feeling in her stomach told her it was a good thing. hearing him, a grin broke out across her face. he wanted to date her. she felt his lips against her forehead and she blushed like a little girl. she had honestly never felt this way about someone before and she was loving it. aubree didnt say anything because she didnt want to ruin the moment. there was nothing she could think to say that cuold have made that any better. she bit her lip, trying to think of something clever to say. before she even could say something it was there turn to order. she watched say that he would pay for her order and she grinned. aubree ordered some nachos and cheese. she watched him pay and she took her nachos from the counter.
she stared at austin as he started to walk away. by not saying anything she wondered if she had ruined it. she bit her bottom lip really hard as she almost ran to catch up with him. she sat down beside him, putting her nachos on the table. she picked up a chip, dipped it in the cheese, and ate it. she listened to him say sorry to maddie and she chewed silently. aubree reached over and took austins Pepsi. she took a drink of it and smiled at him. she set it back down on the table where he had it. she looked over at maddie and watched as she went to bowl. aubree turned to austin and grinned. she didnt really know what to say. "i... uh.. i accept?" she wasnt really sure if him telling her that was actually an invitation so she let out a small laugh. aubree looked over at maddie to make sure that she wasnt looking.
when she saw that maddie wasnt looking, she leaned over and as she put a hand on his cheek she kissed him lightly. she pulled away and laughed nervously. she got up off of her seat and ran towards maddie. she threw her arms around maddies waist and hugged her. "lets bowl baby!" she laughed loudly before letting go of maddie and picking up her own bowling ball. she walked as close as she could get and threw the ball down the lane. she watched as the ball went into the gutter. aubree was far too excited to bowl. she turned around, her hands covering her mouth, and laughed. she looked at maddie while she laughed. when she stopped laughing, she looked over at austin. she winked at him and then blushed and looked away.

looking for adventureand whatever comes in our way
what could be taking them so long? maddie wasn't really one to wait; she honestly hated it. but she always did without complaining, because that was what good friends did. but as she looked up, she grinned as austin and aubree came back to her. as they sat down, she listened to austin apologize, and she shook her head. “it's fine. i got an almost strike!” yes, she was still happy about it. she wasn't good at bowling at all, so getting something close to awesome was good enough for her. watching aubree take a drink of austin's soda, she raised an eyebrow. hearing her say she accepted, maddie was generally curious. she was about to say something when she heard someone call her name.
looking up, she saw it was one of the guys from her theater class. she didn't know him all that well ( heck, she didn't even know his name, to be honest ), but he was always talking to her. she smiled at him, looking at him as he asked her if she wanted to bowl with him and a few of his friends. she shook her head, saying, “sorry, but i'm with my friends. maybe some other time?” she gave him a smile, but before he could say anything, she felt aubree's arms around her. hearing aubree, she laughed, hugging her back, at the same time shrugging at the kid. he just gave her a smile and waved, walking away. she internally sighed; at times the guy creeped her out. he was like...twenty one, and always talking to her.
she watched aubree grab her ball, and maddie couldn't help but laugh as it went into the gutter. she couldn't help but laugh at it; that's what maddie had been getting the whole beginning of the game. she saw aubree glanced back towards them suddenly, and she was curious. standing up, she grabbed her ball, though ready to bowl. she stood next to aubree, talking, a grin on her face. “anything you want to tell me?” she grinned a natural grin at her; she wasn't going to force her best friend to talk to her, though they shared almost everything with each other. though maddie was almost certain that she knew what was going on. she wasn't completely oblivious to life.
aiming her ball, she pulled her arm back, letting it fly again. her ball decided to follow aubree's straight into the gutter. “no! go back to getting strikes!” she frowned at her ball before turning back to aubree. “i swear i got an almost strike earlier!” she sounded like a little girl as she said it, but she was hyper. that was the only explanation she needed for life.

so don't fall, cause this is what you need. aubree was feeling pretty happy and hyper. she looked over at maddie as maddie looked at her. hearing maddies question, aubree shook her head. "nope." she turned away from maddie and bit her lip. she didnt like not telling maddie but she just couldnt. she didnt know why but she just did not want maddie to know. aubree felt pretty bad about it. she told maddie everything and she just lied to her. aubree was a pretty bad liar too. aubree went back to her seat and grabbed a nacho. she dipped it into the cheese and ate it. she watched as maddie bowled and she laughed when maddie got a gutter ball.
aubree turned around and skipped back to the bowling lane. she grabbed a ball and threw it down the lane. they really werent bowling in any order, they were just bowling. aubree wondered why austin wasnt bowling yet. aubree watched as the ball went down the lane. the ball knocked over two pins and she jumped into the air. "yay!!!" she laughed as she jumped over and wrapped her arms around maddie. "two pins! woot woot!" she let go of maddie and started to do a victory dance. even though two pins was not very good, she was happy because she was just hyper. she couldnt control it.

cause we belong together nowforever united here somehow he watched the two of them. he knew they were best friends, and he thought it was cute. maddie accepted especially adorable whenever she was happy. he looked at her as she took a sip of his drink. raising an eyebrow, he looked at her. “thanks.” he chuckled slightly. “i could've bought you one, you know.” he rolled his eyes as he took a sip. but he almost spit it out again when he heard her say 'i accept.' he stared at her, his eyes widening a bit. “really?!” he coughed, realized he was chocking on his soda. coughing ab it until his airways were cleared, he looked at her. that was until he realized maddie was with them. “sweet.” he didn't care; aubree could explain.
he decided to sit out a bit and watch the two of them bowl. he wasn't exactly the best when it came to bowling. he watched aubree thrown in a gutter ball, and he chuckled, thinking that she didn't' hear. he watched maddie also throw one, and he laughed. this was entertaining. they were both being pretty goofy, but he was getting used to it. hearing aubree cheer about two pins, he laughed. he couldn't help it. standing up, he grabbed his bowling ball. standing in between them ( he didn't mean anything mean by it or anything ), he pulled his arm back, letting the ball sail down the aisle. watching all ten pins fall to the ground, he grinned. “ha!” he grinned, looking at maddie, then aubree, though staring down at aubree much longer than necessary.
walking back to his seat, he sat down, looking pretty smug, but it was all an act. he just grinned at the two of them.”aren't either of you getting tired?” it wasn't insulting them, it was just him wanting to head to bed. or him wanting to hang out with aubree...without madalyn around. sure, he liked her, but it was hard to be with just aubree and be..well, how he wanted to be with madalyn around.

so don't fall, cause this is what you need. aubree knew that austin was happy about what she said. however, aubree wasnt completely sure what that meant. did that mean that she was his girlfriend? she shrugged it off and continued to bowl. watching austin get up, she raised an eyebrow. he walked between maddie and her and she let out a small laugh. aubree let her mouth drop open as he got a strike. he started down at her for a few seconds and aubree couldnt look away from him. then, he walked back to his seat. she looked over at maddie and started laughing. she couldnt help it. aubree really wanted to go jump on austin but she thought that would probably give it all away. then again, it might not. aubree looked over at maddie and whispered to her. "watch this." she tried not to laugh.
aubree ran over to austin and plopped down right in his lap, hoping that it would surprise him. she started laughing as she turned her body so that she could see him. both of her hands were on his shoulders and she smiled at him. she spoke in a low voice so that maddie wouldnt hear. at least, she hoped maddie wouldnt hear. "hey cutie. come here often?" she let out a small laugh as she stared at him. aubree really liked austin and she thought that it was probably pretty obvious.
walking back to his seat, he sat down, looking pretty smug, but it was all an act. he just grinned at the two of them.”aren't either of you getting tired?” it wasn't insulting them, it was just him wanting to head to bed. or him wanting to hang out with aubree...without madalyn around. sure, he liked her, but it was hard to be with just aubree and be..well, how he wanted to be with madalyn around.
