most saturdays michaela found herself somewhere on campus, reading, writing, or just being alone in her dorm on her laptop. but today was a different day. for the first time since halfway through december the weather was almost perfect. it was really warm outside, so warm that a jacket wasn't needed in any manner. so she thought she'd drive on down to the lake. she'd found it during her first weekend on campus, and she loved it. it was so beautiful. she'd avoided it during the winter months because the water froze over, and it provided people with a free ice skating rink. and she wasn't a total fan of people, so she decided to not go and avoid them. but now she was in the mood again to visit her favorite place. heck, she even packed a little picnic for herself. okay, so it was just lunch that she had left over that was warmed up and packed perfectly so that it would last the day. but hey, she didn't have breakfast, so she'd probably eat some of it on the way.
as she packed up her car, she was wondering if she could spend the weekend up there. there was a little cabin up there, it wouldn't be hard to stay up there for the weekend in any way. she wasn't sure, but she'd think of something when she got up there. her mind was all on staying up there for the weekend on her drive up, she was amazed she didn't crash on the way there. her mind had been pretty empty lately; she even had her roommate claim she was 'depressed', which she highly doubted. but she didn't know what else to think. but she wasn't going to think of that while she was driving; she'd have rather not dying on the way to the lake.
in about an hour, she reached the road leading down towards the lake, and the small lakeside hotel that was there. it was one of her favorite places; her uncle used to work there while she was with her dad traveling, and had retired almost right when michaela had enrolled in NYAA. but she'd always been welcome there, since her and and her had used to stay there when they were in new york for a while. parking her ca rin the parking lot, she walked out of her car, grabbing her book bag and slamming the door shut. she decided to leave her things in the car until she got a room first; she needed a shower.
entering in through the doors, she walked up to the reception desk. giving her name, she waited almost patiently, except for her foot tapping, to be registered into a room. finally, after almost an hour, she got a room, thankfully. thanking the guy behind the counter, she grabbed her bag and walked to the elevator to the third floor. her room was the fourth one on the right....bingo! finding her room, she unlocked the door, opening it carefully. it seemed bigger than what she would have thought...it seemed like it was a queen sized bed in the middle of the room. she thought the man might have made a mistake, but she wasn't going to complain. the bed looked soft. at least she'd get good sleep. closing the door, she decided what she should do first. looking out the window, she thought. she didn't feel like going outside just that minute. maybe she'd curl up on the bed for a bit. maybe head out when there weren't as many people.
so, changing out of her jeans and sweatshirt, because it was really warm in the room as well, she kicked off her shoes, grabbed her book and her iPod, and plopped down on the bed. she laid on her back, her iPod resting on her chest. as she listened to my chemical romance's i'm not okay, she opened her book to her spot. at least she could relax decently while she was here.

noah stevenson was not having a very good day. he had ran out of weed to smoke and his dealer was blowing him off. he groaned loudly as he layed awake in his bed. what else was there to do? he sat up and walked over to his dresser. if there was nothing to do here, he would find something else to do. thats when he remembered that one of his friends was going to the lake. so, noah decided that he would go there too. he picked up his cell phone and dialed the number that he had memorized. noah had a great memory when he wasnt trashed. noah reserved a room and walked into his bathroom. he grabbed his items and placed them into his duffel bag. he grabbed some clothes and shoved those in there too. he grabbed a big bottle of vodka and put it in the bag. noah grabbed a few beers and put them in there too. he wasnt sure how the bar security was down there so he was definitely bringing his own stuff.
noah grabbed his phone charger and threw it in the bag. he zipped the bag closed. noah threw his duffel bag over his shoulder. he grabbed his keys and walked out the door. he felt his phone vibrate in his pocket and he pulled it out. he had gotten a text message from an ex girlfriend: aubree davis. she called him a dickface and he laughed. noah walked out of the doors and out to his car. he put his bag in the trunk and got into the car. he turned the car on, turned the radio on full blast and started to drive. noah had been to the lake a few times so he knew how to get there without directions. noah sang along to the music as he drove, hoping to get there soon. that was until he got pulled over for speeding.
noah looked at the cop and put on a fake smile. the cop asked for his license and registration. noah pulled the registration out of his glove department and he searched around for his license. he couldnt even find his wallet. he groaned and prayed that it was in his duffel bag. the cop allowed him to get in the trunk with him and noah adn the cop went to the back of the car. noah opened the trunk and opened the side pocket of his duffel bag. thankfully, his wallet was there. he opened the wallet and showed the man his license. the officer told noah to get back in the car and noah did. the cop shut his trunk and noah got back in the car. he waited impatiently. finally, the cop came back. he told noah that he was good to go and gave him a ticket. noah was a little mad but he didnt wanna worry about it. he threw the ticket into the glove box and drove away.
after another half hour of driving, he finally made it to the lake. he got out of his car and grabbed his duffel bag. he walked to the registration desk and gave them his name. he got his key and started up the stairs. noah hadnt even seen that there was an elevator. he got to the third floor completely out of breathe. he was in need of exercise. he looked at the room number on his key and then looked down the hall. he was glad that his room wasnt too far away. it was the fourth one on the right. noah walked four doors down and put his key into the lock. he pushed the door open and layed his bag down on the ground. he shut the door behind him. tired, noah jumped onto the bed and closed his eyes. that is until he felt that he was not the only one in the bed.
noah looked beside him and yelled. "shit! holy fuck!" he sprung off the bed and stood beside it. his heart was racing as he looked down at the girl. "you scared the shit out of me." he let out a sigh of relief. "what are you doing in my room?" he raised an eyebrow at her before letting out a small laugh. "ohhh... i know what this is." he smirked and sat down on the bed. "hm... arent you supposed to jump out of a cake?" he grinned at her basically calling her a stripper. noah was good at insulting people. it just worked for him. and yes, he knew that she really was not a stripper but he always found fun in insulting people.

she was getting sleepy. she'd told herself over and over again never to read while while lying down; this was often how she fell asleep during her homework. but she was getting into the book, and godspeed by anberlin was playing in her ears, so it was too hard to fall asleep. though she mostly blamed the heat in the room. if she was the type, she would've taken everything off and fallen asleep, but she wasn't the type at all. biting her lip, she turned around so that she was on her stomach.
since she was reading, she was pretty oblivious to everything. she didn't even hear the door opening. she bit her lip as she turned the page, but at that minute she felt the bed...move? she looked next to her, and she let out a scream as she saw someone next to her. apparently the person was also surprised to see her. sitting up, she took a deep breath to steady herself, takig her headphones out. hearing his question, she didn't reply, just stared, her eye brow raised as her heart raced back down to human speed. she sat up awkwardly, and cautiously. hearing him, she looked at him curiously. hearing him, it took her a minute to think of what that meant.
“excuse me?” she frowned at him; almost right away she wasn't sure if he was somebody she'd like. seeing him sit down on the bed again, she sighed. so much for quiet. “for your information, this is my room.” her voice was still quiet, mostly because she was still slightly breathless; the guy had scared the crap out of her, wouldn't anyone be out of breath in that situation? she looked at him. “why are you here?” she prayed that he wouldn't say this was his room too. she knew how things worked at this hotel; when this happened, they'd often say that they were stuck together. and she wasn't sure if she wanted this to be one of those situations. just thinking about it, she groaned, falling back onto the bed, her hands rubbing at her eyes.

he heard the words come out of her mouth but he didnt know why she was saying them. he raised an eyebrow as she said that this was her room. noah let out a small laugh. "apparently, theres been a mix up." he sat down on the bed beside her. "i called before i got here and reserved a room. they gave me this one." he shrugged at her. as he sat there, he got a good look at her. he had seen her before. he just couldnt seem to place where he had seen her. noah tried to think but he was feeling awkward. thats when he remembered. he had seen her at school once or twice. hearing her ask why he was here, he shrugged. "i dont know. i wanted to get away for a weekend." noah got up off of the bed and walked back to his bag.
he picked up his duffel bag and sighed. "dont worry about it. ill just leave." noah put the bag over his shoulder and walked towards the door. he hoped that she was going to say something so that he could stay. however, as he pulled the door open, he was starting to worry that she wasnt going to let her stay. noah had to admit that she was actually really attractive. she would probably be a pretty cool person to hang out with if he had gotten on her good side. noah walked further out the door.

hearing him, she sighed. this really wasn't the first time this happened to her. though she was thankful he was near her age and not like a forty year old that she got stuck with last time. that had been awful. hearing his reason for being there, she nodded. “i know how that feels. school was just....ughh.” she shook her head. she was usually one to like school. but lately, things had been going over her head and she just didn't like it. the lake was like her real home; the only place she truly felt relaxed in. she looked up, feeling him get off the bed. hearing him say he'd just leave, she watched him for a minute before sighing.
“wait..” she sat up, brushing her brown hair out of her face. “my uncle used to work here, so i know how it works. they won't let you get a different room or anything. so, you can stay with me for the weekend. it's better than heading back.” she shrugged, wondering if he'd actually stay. she had been rude. closing her book, she put it on the bedside table before looking at him. she crossed her legs pretzel style underneath her. “come on. i don't bite. i don't snore. i'm pretty decent.” she stuck her tongue out of the side of her mouth, making one of her rare childlike faces. she just hoped he'd stay.
she looked him up and down. she was almost certain that she'd probably talked ot this guy before. “music major, right?” she looked him up and down; definitely music. he just had that aura about him. she was about to say something else when she heard her stomach growling just slightly. biting her lip, she felt the heat rush to her face. “uhm, you hungry?” she gave him an awkward smile. she could probably get on his good side easily.
