- It was time for Garret to do something he really didnt want to do. Call Miranda Crise. Last night on the Schools chat site, he had said that he still had feelings for her, not realizing that Miranda was still there. He had promised her an explaination, but now he was thinking that he really didnt need to explain anything. With a sigh, he picked up his cellphone and dialed her number. He could hear the low hum of Emma's stereo, and Kaylee singing very loudly to The Imagination Movers. He stepped into the kitchen while he waited for her to pick up. [/blockquote][/blockquote][/size]

Bloody damn, where was her phone? Miranda Crise had been waiting quite relentlessly that morning for a phone call which made that fact that her cell phone was currently missing in action quite frustrating. Finally catching sight of the damn thing after throwing a pillow annoyingly to the ground, she quickly picked it up having had been worried she wouldn't get to it in time. "Hello?" She answered though she already knew who it was.

Garret almost hung up the phone when Miranda answered. He wasnt ready for this. He had never thought he would have to come to terms with the fact that he was still in love with her, and probably always would be. She had enevitably been the cause of all of his breakups. He couldnt stay with a person because no one had compared to her. Jayden had been the only girl he had truly cared about since Miranda, and Lord knew that was gone. Infact, earlier that morning he had talked to her in the dining hall. He waited a moment before finally saying "Um hey...." "Yea, it was lame. "I...I uh, I think we needed to talk, right?" Now the girl had him stumbling over words. How did she do this to him? [/blockquote][/blockquote][/size]

Was she losing it or was Garret actually acting...awkward? She kinked an eyebrow instinctively at the thought but quickly realized that a situation like this probably would make anyone awkward. She had to hold back a sigh as she thought of how fucking much God seriously had to hate her, Jayden? Seriously, what.thee.hell? She had to smile a bit though, after all Gar did sound quite adorable. "Hi." she said before he got the other half in, "Yeah....we really really do." She agreed, definitely not failing to notice how much he was stumbling over words but not thinking it was the time to say so. "Look, Garret I am extremely sorry...for everything. I should have just kept my mouth shut, I didn't mean to come between you and Jayden." She explained honestly. She hadn't planned on trying to Garret back the moment she heard that he had a girlfriend and especially not if that girl was her best friend...

So they had gotten their greetings down, and they both had agreed that they needed to talk. Garret didnt know where to go from there. Luckily, or rather unluckily Miranda had told him that she was sorry, and she had never meant to come between him and Jayden. Before he could stop himself, the words he had said twice before came pouring out of his mouth. "Miranda. You've been doing that since the day you walked out of my life. Why do you think I havent settled down yet? No one can compare to you in my heart. I've always found a reason to push myself away from every one. Jayden was the only girl who I've cared about since you. So even though you didnt mean to come between Jayden and I, you've been doing it since day one."[/blockquote][/blockquote][/size]

Miranda ran her free hand through her light brunet hair as she took in exactly what Garret was telling her. It was beginning to feel as if she was always the reason for anything that went wrong in his life. If it weren't for Kaylee, the girl would more than certainly wish she didn't exist right now. He needed to be able to be happy with someone else because both of them knew that she wasn't anywhere near good enough for him, at least he should know that. "I wish I knew what to say..." She began lamely, biting down on her lower lip wishing that all the right words would come to her but it was obvious she was going to have no such luck. "I really don't deserve you to feel anything but hatred towards me. I've screwed up everything for you and I hate myself for it."

Why did he have to make her feel that way? He knew the moment he said that she had been the cause of all of his failed relationships, that she would start feeling guilty, and go on a trip about how sorry she was, and how undeserving she was. He never wanted her to feel that way. That had always been a problem; she seemed to have low self esteem. It broke his heart when she talked bad about herself, just like it was now. “Miranda” he began to say, before he felt a tug at his pants and looked down and saw Kaylee puckered up, with tears in her eyes. “Hey, hold on a sec.” he said. Asking her what was wrong, she pointed out to a spot on her elbow where she had apparently fallen. He kissed it real fast, and asked if it felt better. She nodded, and then ran back into the living room, because Dora the Explorer was on. “Sorry about that.” he mumbled. “But Miranda, I don’t want you to hate yourself. I don’t hate you. Actually, its quite the opposite. And you deserve a lot more than you give yourself credit for. You act like you are some terrible monster, but your not. You were just some scared kid back then. I see that now. I…I forgive you.”[/blockquote][/blockquote][/size]

A frown spread across her features as Garret was about to say something. She honestly had no idea on what to expect when it came to his reaction, back when they were dating and Miranda's low self esteem would kick in he'd save her by somehow always knowing the right things to say or do to make her feel as if she was good enough but now? She wasn't sure there would be any way of fixing that, and besides whose to say he would try? She wasn't nearly as innocent as she used to be and this time she deserved to feel as if she was the worst girl to ever exist. Although no one was there to see it she tilted her head to the side as Garret told her to hold on a second, it didn't take long for her to figure out why as Kaylee's whining could be heard in the background, she couldn't help but smile the slightest bit...she sounded adorable. Even though she had went over numerous ways Gar could respond she hadn't expected this, he was forgiving her? She blinked quite a few times and must have been silent for at least half a minute, he couldn't do that. "How can you say that? I had the chance to have everything I could ever want and I threw it all away! Gar, please...don't defend me." She said, her voice showing her emotions quite obviously as tears came to her eyes. He was too good, too perfect it was honestly unbelievable.

He shook his head as she was saying that he didn’t need to defend her. That was the craziest thing he had ever heard. She was way too hard on herself. Of course, he understood why. If they roles had been reversed, he would have felt the same way. But that was completely different. Miranda didn’t deserve to feel the way she was feeling. “Miranda, I can say that because I…well, I love you. I was scared shitless too Miranda, I was. But for some reason, I was meant to do this. I think it was suppose to work out this way, or something. I don’t blame you for anything, and I really don’t think I ever have. Lord knows I was lost and confused at first, but it wasn’t fair of me to expect you to stick around. I was so caught up in the thought of us being together forever, that I never thought about how you might have felt. I’m to blame just as much as you are, if not more. So lets just put that behind us. Let’s forget that whole ordeal ever happened, and be friends again. For now. He said, hinting that he did want to be with her, but he just needed time. [/blockquote][/blockquote][/size]

It took a lot out of her to make herself keep her mouth shut as he made her sound as if she was innocent. How in the world could he feel this way? She had left him after accepting his proposal alone with their baby that she was supposed to help him raise and he was willing to simply forget and forgive everything? It made no sense. People as perfect as Garret Dublin really weren't supposed to exist. She desperately wanted to protest, to tell him that something like that simply couldn't happen as she had given up her right to all of that the moment she didn't do what she had been planning to the entire time but she knew that she couldn't do that. She would do whatever it was that Garret wanted and if this was it she'd simply have to bite her tongue and accept it. "You know that I think about this but if that's what you want, okay. We'll put it behind us." She said, she couldn't deny that she was happy to have Garret back in her life especially as it was quite obviously hinted that he was wanting to get back with her but not just yet. Oh, and there was always the fact that he had just told her he loved her. She had assumed that, for now, it was best not to say that back as she didn't want to make it appear like she was trying to rush the process.

- He couldn’t believe he had actually said ‘for now’. Of course, he had really meant it, but he couldn’t believe that he had actually had the courage to say it. Deep down he had known that he had still had feelings for Miranda. Aiden saw it, Joey saw it, but he had still denied it. He supposed he just didn’t have to face the facts because she wasn’t around. The moment Miranda had made her appearance back in New York, Aiden had known that Garret was in for trouble, he had told him so. Garret had really hated to hurt Jayden, but he knew he would have only hurt her more if they would have stayed together. His heart belonged to Miranda, it always had and always would. One day, he wanted to marry her, but first, he would have to slowly allow himself to completely trust her. Not to protect himself, he didn’t care, but to protect Kaylee. He really wanted Kaylee to know her mother, to grow to love her mother, but he had to make sure she was here for good. If she left again, Garret would find a way to survive, but he knew it would crush Kaylee. He shook all these thoughts from his head. “That’s exactly what I want.” he said, glad that she wasn’t going to argue with him for once. “What are you doing right now?”[/blockquote][/blockquote][/size]

A smile came to her features as he asked her what she was doing, it was probably the first genuine smile she'd shown in awhile. "Besides talking to you? Not a thing." Miranda responded, feeling much better than she had in a long time. Sure, she wasn't willing to give up her guilt but that didn't mean she could resist being happy that Garret was going to be in her life again. Or even better yet, she was going to be in her daughter's life. It seemed as if things were finally going to get better. If only Jayden hadn't had to be hurt in the process...

Garret wasn’t sure if it was too soon or not, but he needed to be with people, and Miranda was as good of a choice as any. In fact, he could even use this as another meeting between Kaylee and Miranda. Of course, Kaylee had no clue who Miranda really was, she just thought it was “daddy’s really pretty friend” and in fact, she had asked once if Jayden was her mother. Of course, Garret had set that straight, but he wasn’t quite ready to tell her who her real mother was. He felt bad about it, but he still didn’t completely trust Miranda yet. He supposed that in time he would, but for now he was going to enjoy the fact that she was here. “Well, Since you’re not doing anything, and I’m not doing anything, would you like to accompany Kaylee and myself for some Ice cream at Friendly’s?”[/blockquote][/blockquote][/size]
